Hi Dr. Bill,
Do enjoy your approach to TECH….Makes it enjoyable.
NOW, since you’re a Ubuntu geek…Why can’t I get sound in 12.04?? A fresh install, and I’ve searched many,many forums with NO FUN YET!!
Ubuntu didn’t have Pulse audio control installed? Is this a BUG in 12? in sound properties all I have is s/pdif …that’s NOT for analog computer speakers…

You all have an excellent show. Just a comment about Ubuntu. I also think gnome 2 (ubuntu 10) is about the best desktop design around. Ubuntu 12 is a touch screen design (tablet) and it is not perfect for that kind of design. There should be words under all the icons (pictures) on the left side of the screen so I do not have to guess what these icons mean. A word under all icons so i can glance down and pick the right one with out pointing to each and every one. Ubuntu 12 is not a good design for touchscreen (tablets)

I figured out a workaround until Roku gets an official YouTube channels. You’d put YouTube videos links into Facebook and then view the video from Roku’s Facebook channel. Create a whole playlist!

Would you call that a hot idea? Seriously, the additional complexity could make this new technology less reliable. That would be a big negative. I applaud the research, but I will not be among the first to buy such a drive.

It seems the biggest issue would be with flv video, but by transcoding to mp4 instead of flv, that could be solved. Even without the video fix, making it optional would allow those of us the mainly use Subsonic for music to benefit from the new player. , nice job you guys! youtube html5 player
